Once again, we are delighted with the outstanding results achieved by our dedicated and hard working pupils adding the continued positive trends over the last few years. All students gained qualifications with in excess of 67% of pupils gaining A*/A or equivalent in at least one subject area. This stunning figure is matched by the number of pupils who gained 2 or more A levels at grades A* -C, through our academically rigorous curriculum. Yet again, all pupils, without exception, left with qualifications.
Exceptional results were again achieved in the demanding and academically challenging Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification, with its new grading system.
The school is proud of the fact that pupils were placed on the correct learning pathway enabling them to achieve these extremely strong results.
Performances at the highest levels of excellence were gained by the following, to name but a few at A level and/or their equivalencies:
Katie Williams - 3 A*s plus 1 A
Sam Crossland - A*, A, B
Chloe Griffiths - 2 A*s
Rachel Strevens -3 A*s
Georgia Williams - 3 A*s and 1 A
Rhian Marsden - 3 A*s and 2 A’s
Georgia Smithson - 3 A’s and a B
Tomos Jones - 2 A*s and an A
Alice Foster and Zac Daniels each have - 2 A*s and a B
Chloe Jones - 2 A*s, 2 A’s and a B
Ben Smith - 3 A’s
The school is delighted that the vast majority of students have been able to take up a place at one of their universities of choice.
The Headteacher, Mrs Eithne Hughes said: “Congratulations to all our students for their successes in these important examinations. Bryn Elian students have once again demonstrated that the school successfully provides both academic rigour alongside broader achievements, through an innovative curriculum which embraces academic, vocational and extra-curricular opportunities. This innovative curriculum, and its successful outcomes for our students was a feature of our recent Estyn Inspection report.
Thanks go to all staff for their hard work and excellent teaching of the students. I along with my deputies and all the staff, wish all the students the very best of luck for the continued studies.”
Mr Phil Capper, Chair of the Board of Governors added his thanks to all staff for their hard work and hearty congratulations to all pupils on their phenomenal success on behalf of the governing body.
