GCSE Results 2019
Wednesday, 28 August, 2019
Ysgol Bryn Elian is once again celebrating a successful set of GCSE results, adding to the great success of last week’s ‘A’ level results. The results are a testament to the hard work put in by the learners of year 11 in a wide curriculum choice.
Students not only scored well in well-established subject areas but also in the new Skills Challenge Certificate, a qualification which is rigorous and different to traditional GCSE’s demanding at times a different skill-set. All students are also leaving Year 11 with at least 5 GCSE’s bringing to reality the school’s motto of ‘Achievement for All’
it is difficult to single out individual students in terms of performance as so many learners did well. However, congratulations for exceptional performances go to:
Chloe Newton who scored, amongst other grades, 9 A*/A
Adam Arshad who scored, amongst other grades, 8 A*/A
Jodie Booth who scored , amongst other grades, 10 A*/A

The Headteacher, Mr Dave Humphreys, said, “ Yet again the school has achieved results of a very pleasing standard. We are very proud of all the young people who have worked so hard and tirelessly. We are very much looking forward to seeing them back in our successful sixth form in September.
Bryn Elian’s success comes from offering our students a varied and appropriate curriculum, enhanced by our support systems in school. Thanks go to all the staff for all their hard work and excellent teaching of these Year 11 learners. The success of these students is because of the exceptional partnership we also have with parents and together the support provided at both home and school has enabled our learners to shine”
Mr Capper, Chair of Governors joined Mr Humphreys in congratulating all learners and staff and parents on behalf of the Governing Body
